3 Poèmes de Stéphane Mallarmé

A composition for soprano voice by Maurice Ravel set to specific work of the French symbolist poet. This piece, music married to poetry, provided the core motivation for presenting this performance. Through the voice of the soprano, every second of the composition suggests magical watercolors pouring through each note, each word, and through every gesture. The words are sonorous and the music poetic.

The Three Oddest Words

A Basil Tale

Preben Antonsens new pocket opera,in which three movements tell a distinct story, using texts not originally connected, to create the narrative: a girl suffers loss, goes mad, and dies. Over the course of the piece, the soprano plays different characters, each of whom tell a portion of the story.
